Nashik: Five construction workers They suffered minor injuries when the truck they were traveling in overturned Nashik flyoveron the Mumbai-Agra highway, near the Bhujbal farm area.
The accident occurred on Sunday at 5 p.m. and caused significant traffic disruptions on the viaduct. Police officers went to the site to remove the truck and ease traffic. A truck loaded with construction materials was heading towards Adgaon from Pathardi Phata. The workers were returning to the Adgaon side after finishing the day’s work at the construction site in Pathardi Phata.
As the truck was passing by the Bhujbal farm area, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit a road divider and then rolled on its side. Five employees suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the overturned truck blocked the entire width of the flyover arm leading towards Dwarka. As a result, there were plenty of them traffic intensity lasting nearly 30 minutes. Ambad police immediately reached the spot and diverted traffic from the flyover near Indiranagar. About 45 minutes after the incident, the truck was removed using a crane. This allowed traffic to resume on the viaduct.
Inspector Jayant Shirsath of Ambad police station said the truck driver fled the spot after the accident. The injured workers were taken to Nashik Civil Hospital for medical attention.
