PETE Wicks suffered a terrifying collapse on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins – moments before DS staff admitted fears they would “kill him”.

The former Towie star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant has returned to military endurance training after suffering catastrophic injuries last year.

Determined to get through this time, in the third episode of the series, Pete pushed himself to the limits of his abilities – with almost disastrous results.

In today’s episode, the remaining recruits were divided into pairs and tasked with hauling 130 pounds of gear in a race through three miles of icy terrain.

However, Pete’s partner (“opponent” for short), comedian Tez Ilyas, was forced to withdraw by DS staff who dismissed him as a “security problem” halfway through the assignment.

However, that meant leaving Pete to carry everything himself.

Encouraged by DS Billy Billingham, Pete continued, although as time went on he began to slow down.

He then announced, “I’m feeling dizzy, Staff,” and then fell into the snow.

Billy urged Pete to drink some water and continue, but the star had difficulty continuing.

“He’s not going to make it,” Billy said, telling cameras, “He’s going to die.”

Billy has since admitted that he feared he had killed Pete during an aggressive assignment.

Medical staff were eventually brought in to take him back to base for examination – much to the anger of Pete, who wanted to continue treatment even though he admitted to feeling sick.

After being assessed by the medical team, Pete was allowed to return to the course, although he was warned that if this happened again he would be medically withdrawn.

Speaking to the cameras, Pete said: “It’s not easy for me to rely on other people. I rely on myself. Yes, I really am a bit of a lone wolf.

“I’m not very good at revealing things to people because I feel like it’s my problem and I have to come to terms with it.”

“And that’s not fair, because ultimately all you’re doing is creating a bigger fucking hole for yourself, right?”

Back at the camp bunks, the rest of the recruits were relieved to see that he was okay, with Rachel Johnson joking that “The Messiah has returned.”

“Fuck me,” he replied. “I have more lives than that damn cat.”

DS staff later praised him for giving “110%” and revealed he was just 400 meters short of completing the course.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 4.
