Badie was injured after a tackle by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium.

After a tackle, he made his way onto the field on his own.

He stood near the Broncos benches and appeared to be holding his back.

Shortly afterward, the 24-year-old former Missouri Tigers player collapsed.

Medics rushed to Badi’s aid, and the runner was immediately placed on a backboard and secured in a neck lock.

He appeared to be conscious and talking to doctors as he was taken from the field to the locker room.

According to The Denver Post, the Broncos initially said Badie’s return from a back injury was questionable.

He has since been banned from the remainder of the competition in New Jersey.

Badie was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 draft.

He was initially drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, but was picked up by the Broncos a year later.

NFL fans say Bo Nix ‘could be a real hit’ after eye-catching rookie performance for Denver Broncos

The Louisiana native spent the entire 2023 season and the first three weeks of this season on the Broncos’ practice squad.

He was promoted to the active roster earlier this week after recording nine carries for 70 yards in Week 3.

“We are praying for Badi,” one fan wrote on X as the NFL world reacted to the incident.

“I pray everything is OK,” added another.

The game continued at MetLife with the Jets leading 6-0 at halftime.

The incident comes just two weeks after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was forced to retire following a brutal concussion.

Initially, a concussion specialist pleaded with Tagovailoa to quit the sport in 2022 after suffering three powerful impacts.

According to ESPN, the league changed its concussion protocol after he returned to the game even though he was not on his feet.
