Four Minnesotans died in a crash in Utah

The Utah State Patrol has identified five people who died in a car crash Thursday, including four from Minnesota.

The crash occurred on Highway 6 near the town of Spring Glen in the central-northeast region of the state, at the intersection of Spring Glen Road.

On that road, the State Patrol said a silver SUV attempted to enter the designated acceleration lane, but crossed the lane and entered another eastbound lane where a semi was already traveling.

The State Patrol said the semi tried to avoid the SUV but lost control, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a westbound Nissan SUV with four Minnesotans inside.

As a result of the accident, the Nissan went off the road and hit a rock embankment; The ATV, which was traveling on the shoulder of the highway, was also struck by the crashing trailer and Nissan.

The passengers of the Nissan and the driver of the quad were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Utah State Patrol identified the four people who died in the SUV: Sang Her, 56, of Brooklyn Center, Lee Thao, 38, of Brooklyn Center, Bee Moua, of St. Paul and Mai Lor from St. Paul.

The driver of the ATV was identified as 35-year-old Gustavo Mendoza of Helper, Utah.
